Rain! Rain! Rain!

Man! This has been a hard summer. Dry. The drip irrigation system has been the only thing keeping my garden alive. That and the insane about of organic matter in my soil holding enough moisture to keep them alive.

The top two inches of the soil have been bone dry for most of the summer. but once you get down more that two or three inches, there is great reserve of moisture held in the compost/humus itself.

That's why you need compost and a reliable drip irrigation system. The compost will hold on to moisture, the drip irrigation will supply the moisture where the plants need it most, and this can be the difference between having a dead garden and a thriving garden despite drought conditions. Get one!
